  • How do I get there?
We’re at 5550 N. Fresno Street on the corner of N. Fresno Street and E. Browning Avenue. If you’re driving, take Fresno Street and turn east on Browning Avenue, then make a right turn into our parking lot.

  • Where should I go when I arrive?
Our building facilities are south of the parking lot. From the parking lot, head away from Browning Avenue toward the garden entryway and paved walkway. You will see posted signs directing you to the sanctuary where worship services are held or to Hayden Hall where other events and activities are generally held.  Restrooms and the nursery are located in Hayden Hall.

  • When should I arrive?
There is plenty of parking and there are plenty of folks to welcome you and orient you to the facilities; no need to arrive excessively early for whatever attracts your interest.

  • What should I wear?
People here dress in a variety of ways, though we tend to be more casual than formal. Wear whatever you wish. You’ll fit in just fine.

  • What should I expect?
You’ll likely be informally and spontaneously greeted by any number of folks who have found a home-away-from-home among us and who’ve been around for a while. We have a saying at this church: “No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome here.” So, because we respect and encourage people’s individual journeys of faith, don’t expect to hear a list of things you “should” believe or ready-made answers. You might expect, though, to be challenged to think, feel, dream, take action, change and grow – whenever you’re ready.

  • What about persons with disabilities?
Our sanctuary, meeting space and restrooms are accessible. We have large print worship service bulletins and assistive hearing devices for those who need them. If you have special needs, call ahead and we will work to accommodate them.

  • What about children and youth?
Children and youth are welcome to participate in worship, religious education programs, Vacation Bible School, service projects, and all other areas of church life.

  • Can anyone take communion or participate in the eucharist?
Yes. We believe that communion, or the eucharist, is a symbolic, ancient, sacred ritual that has diverse meanings for diverse people. What we would agree on in this church is that God sets the table and God welcomes all.

  • Is church just on Sundays?
No. Check out Events and Other Things We Do.

UCC National

The United Church of Christ is a community of faith that seeks to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. The UCC was founded in 1957 as the union of several different Christian traditions. From the beginning of our history, we were a church that affirmed the ideal that Christians did not always have to agree in order to live together in communion. Our motto, "that they may all be one",  is Jesus' prayer for the unity of the church...
